my approach + what to expect

Using yoga, functional movement, meditation and breathwork (breathing exercises), I craft inclusive, adaptive, trauma-informed and welcoming yoga practices for people of all abilities.

My commitment to each student is to hold a warm, welcoming and supportive space to empower their yoga practice, and themselves.

With a focus on Vinyasa yoga, I create flowing sequences rooted in safety, alignment and creativity. Crafted around balance, my classes also incorporate functional movement (squats, pulsing, etc.) to support increased mobility and strength, and to add variety. I offer adaptive posture options and variations, opening up the practice to be more accessible for different abilities, injuries, life changes, day-to-day differences. I encourage students to find their edge and to respect what's present for them, moment-to-moment.

Together we also practice breathing exercises and meditation – as proven practices to help regulate the nervous system – to allow an opportunity to feel embodied and present.

My language and cueing is invitational and not presumptuous, aligning with a trauma-informed approach to yoga.

In my community classes, my ever-evolving playlists are unique and might not be what is typically heard in a yoga studio. Teaching yoga is my privilege and opportunity to cultivate connection in my community.
